Conservation District Act/Imagine

GICIA acts as a guardian to the Gasparilla Island Conservation District Act and monitors activities that could significantly impact quality of life on Boca Grande.

Bike Path

GICIA owns and manages five miles of bike path. Perpetual maintenance of this gateway to Boca Grande is secured by a $5,000,000 endowment.

Land Conservancy

With just under 300 acres, GICIA provides critical natural habitat for native wildlife while reducing the island’s build out density.

The Mission of the GICIA

The GICIA is dedicated to preserving the integrity of the Gasparilla Island Conservation District Act, enhancing conservancy properties, maintaining the Bike Path, and encouraging initiatives that benefit our island community.

Organization, Governance & Charitable Status

The GICIA is a non-profit membership corporation. The organization employs two non-profit professionals and has a volunteer board of directors comprised of island residents who are elected by the membership. The GICIA is an autonomous 501(c)(3) public charity. All contributions are tax deductible. Our non-profit identification number is 23-7097778.

Membership & Annual Giving

The GICIA urges all residents of Boca Grande to become members. To become a member all you have to do is make a contribution to the GICIA. More than ever your membership is very important because the external forces and pressures that affect our community continue to grow. Your generous help is needed. Boca Grande is a wonderful place. Together, the members of the GICIA and our dedicated organization will preserve and enhance it.
